IRCAM hosts NIME 06, the 6th International Conference on New Interfaces for Musical Expression, in collaboration with the MINT-OMF (Sorbonne University) in Paris. An exceptional 5-day event where research papers, demos, performances and interactive installations will be presented. NIME 06 is a unique opportunity to confer with an interdisciplinary audience of artists, scientists and technologists on the latest developments in interface design and musical expression.
NIME 06 will open with one day of workshops on Improvisation with the Computer and Motion capture and analysis for dance.
At the heart of the conference, scientific presentations and demonstrations on novel developments on interfaces, musical instruments and interactive systems. Concerts and installations will provide exceptional opportunities to experience these works in an artistic context.
To conclude, several other events: a session on the instruments of the violin family, a session ConGAS (European project in Gesture Controlled Audio Systems), a workshop on Network Performance and finally a workshop i-Maestro, tools for technology-enhanced music education.
