Annie Luciani is a research director of the French Ministry of Culture. She is in charge of the ACROE group that is a research group supported by the Ministry of Culture and by the Grenoble Institute of Computer Science (IMAG). She founded this group in 1976. During this time, she developed the concept of physical modeling and force feedback gestural control for computer music and computer animation. She is in charge of the Computer Visual Arts Research of the laboratory.
She designed two artistic works: Esquisses (1993) and Mémoires Vives (2001), completely implemented with the technologies developed by the laboratory. Currently she is Deputy Project Coordinator of the European Network of Excellence Enactive Interfaces.
